CNC turning

Start with diameter, length and the features around the axis.

1.0Who it is for

For engineers and buyers who need round parts: shafts, bushings, spacers, pins and threaded inserts, from one prototype to a thousand-part batch.

Included

  • Drawing review of diameters, bores, grooves and threads before we quote
  • Stock in the six listed grades; other grades after a review
  • Setup and a first-piece check before the batch runs
  • In-process checks on the features you name as critical
  • Deburring, and packing with the revision on the note

Quoted separately or not offered

  • Parts over Ø200 mm or longer than 400 mm: a manual review instead of the screen
  • Anodising, plating and heat treatment: arranged with partners and named in the quotation
  • Grinding and certification work: not offered

The lathe envelope in the screen. Diameter and length are checked separately, so a long thin pin can fit where a wide disc does not.

ShapeRound: diameter and length checked separately

Metals±0.02 mm or looser

Left open
Turning fitted the size, but brass always needs an application and compliance discussion.
Settled
The buyer stated the intended use and the evidence their product needs. Material review came first, then the quotation.

★★★★★

Our turned spacers moved here from a platform order. Same drawing, but Bas asked which diameter actually mattered, and the report covered exactly those features.

6.0How the job runs

  1. 1Send the RFQAny time

Diameter, length, bores, threads, material, quantity and the date you need. Gaps are fine.

  2. 2One reply1–2 business days

Milan lists anything missing in one email, or confirms the request is complete.

  3. 3Review and quotation2–3 business days

Bas checks concentricity, thread specifications and datums, then the quotation follows.

  4. 4Setup and first pieceAfter your order

Sanne sets up the lathe; Elise measures the first part against the agreed features.

  5. 5Batch, inspect, pack3–6 weeks

The batch runs with in-process checks, then final inspection and packing.

7.0Questions

What is the largest part you turn?

The screen takes Ø200 mm and 400 mm long. Diameter and length are checked separately, so a Ø30 × 400 mm pin fits and a Ø210 × 50 mm disc goes to a manual review.

Can you turn and mill the same part?

Yes. The lathes have live tooling for flats, cross holes and slots. Name those features on the drawing and the review agrees whether the part also moves to a mill.

Do you cut threads to a named standard?

Put the designation and tolerance class on the drawing, such as M8 × 1.25-6H. The quotation names the gauge check.

Which batch sizes suit turning here?

One prototype up to 1000 parts in the screen. Larger batches are welcome too; they go to a schedule review first.
